Why do we emphasize a system rather than just providing 100 ideas to manage people better? Management ideas are a dime a dozen. Oftentimes they are too vague to apply in every day business situations.

For instance, you may have a worker who is tardy often and you want to know how to motivate them to show up to work on time. A great idea would be to incentivize his or her attendance by providing a reward each time the person shows up to work on time. However, if you don't have an efficient system for tracking when that person arrvies on time or not, how can you accurately provide an incentive? We emphasize and teach management systems because these tips, ideas, and information cannot be put into practice without one.
Like an accurate time piece, a system is a series of actions proven to be effective at achieving a task (such as keeping accurate time).
